I sense Kurt´s post was merely aimed at abstracting from the frequent pettiness of the local discussions, an attempt at the reestablishment of some direction. 

It was especially, a loving testimony of a more trascendental affection for Pynchon´s work, not only as a source of study, but as an epistemology, as a stychomancer´s guide to the galaxy. I thought it was one of the finest postings we have received in a very long time.
