Warning, if I see no reason for anonymity I will not post with out a separate note tome explaining why Dave Begin forwarded message: From: Jeremy Bornstein <[email protected]> Date: December 31, 2006 2:42:20 PM EST To: David Farber <[email protected]> Subject: Re: anonymity Okay, it's set up! You may advise your subscribers to send mail to [email protected] when they want to make an anonymous submission. Mail to that address will have its "From" header removed and replaced with the anonymous submission email address. Any occurrences of the corresponding original email address or real name in the body of the mail will also be removed, and any signature which is properly begun with "-- " on a line by itself will be removed. Corresponding filtering will take place on text/html portions of multipart messages, but this might not catch everything since I'm not running those portions through a full tag parser and I suspect large variations in style for HTML email. This is likely to be good enough for most cases, and is about as far as I can take it without putting in a lot more effort. I'm going to manually forward the anonymized mail to you for the time being, so that I can check it first and so that I can accumulate a reasonable dataset for testing the filter before putting it on automatic. Shall I send the mail to you at your regular email address? Best, Jeremy
