Cool. It would be interesting to try to chart the positive influence of a range of people, papers, and projects through the last several decades. And a few of the worst negative ones. It would have to be highly subjective, but enough of us have a sense of different parts of things that we could produce an interesting result. We could use a version of a Sankey diagram, feeding it inputs/outputs/proportions. There are some interesting problems with also capturing the temporality of things, including things that sped up or held back invention / adoption.
