Thanks for reminding me. I've had them on a list for a long time, but keep forgetting to watch progress. I'm just at the point of attaching one or more databases and network blob / filesystems to the backend container environment. AFAIK, Spanner-like transaction systems were invented in the 1980s but the infrastructure for distributing a coordinated time code was outrageously expensive at the time.
