I finally got around to updating to the linux 5.0 kernel. It fixes a longstandng issue I've been fighting with with nvidia drivers since 390, 396, 400, 405, 418, 430. I can't tell you what a relief it is not having to go into recovery mode every time I have to reboot (granted it's not that often, but when I need to use native Office tools on my work machine).
