--------Forwarded--------------- The Center for Knowledge Societies (CKS) is pleased to invite you to its pavilion, WWW.ICT4D.INFO, at the BangaloreIT.Com Trade Fair. This exhibit inaugurates CKS' eponymous online resource, which catalogues over 120 initiatives in South Asia, which use Information and Communications Technologies for Development. CKS provides social research, design, planning, and strategy consulting services for information and communications technology initiatives in rural areas. It also innovatively uses Graphical Information Systems (GIS) for planning and monitoring ICT projects in rural areas. The pavilion will host products, services and projects from several partner organizations. Mahiti.Org provides software services and web enablement for the development sector. Mithi Technologies will showcase its regional language emailing service, www.mailjol.com. E-Tapaal, another email service project in English and regional languages, will also be showcased. Web Ezee Technologies Private Ltd. will exhibit Data Vision, a handheld data collection device. UNICEF will inaugurate its child healthcare project, Sisu Samrakshak, in Karnataka. CoOptions Technologies Private Ltd., a Hyderabad-based software company, will demonstrate its ICT-based products for agricultural and financial services. Mr. P. N. Suresh, of the NGO Srujana, has designed the installation. It embodies a rural and artisanal aesthetic, and resembles a gateway to signify new collaborative opportunities.
