Fred, Partha:

I find that my original posting on "hole in the wall" has not been published. I have not been advised of the decision of the ditors either. Message sent 12 hours later has been released and the previouys three items have been withheld. May O know the reason?

I am sending once again the message I sent to the producers of the documentary. I hope you will relaease it.

Thanks:
Dear Rory:

Normally I support most developmental initiatives. In the case of Hole in the Wall I have some small issues.

Is it not that 2 or 3 year old kids picked up using nintendo WITHOUT MANUALS in no time? Is it not that they can beat playing mario any of us in seconds? Did they really have training or manual for that? I have watched three year old kids handling VCRs and CDs just a little better than the adults and they do noyt have the reading and writing capability yet at that age!

Hope in the wall is good for those who did it- it got them publicity. It is a very expensive project given how much they use to maintain it. It proves an idea which I find repulsive that a 15 year old young in thge slums of delhi has less intelligence than a 2 or 3 year old kid whose parents can afford a nintendo! Do you believe in that?

I believe it is good for a researcher to prove that point to himself. that pursuit is ok. but to take this idea and experiemnet with it and spend sums that could be utilised for a better purpose on this idea!?

It is one thing to get a grant and make a documentary. It is another to understand what is being done.
