More confusion over 'Free Software'?

'Free' Software doesn't mean the same as zero-cost software. It means
that, unlike proprietory software, it gives freedom to its users as
outlined in the GNU General Public License. 

That is works out more reasonably priced for the consumer is another
incidental benefit (which may be particularly relevant in a country like 
India... but this is another point). FN

PS: While on this point, I personally appreciate the contribution of Prof
Gupta's son, Abhinav, and his company Deep Root Linux, to the cause of
GNU/Linux and Free Software from Bangalore.
