  The first International Conference on e-Science and Grid Computing 
  (e-Science 2005) was held in Melbourne, Australia, from Dec. 5-8, 
  2005. 

  Apart from presentation of peer-reviewed papers, the conference hosted 
  three workshops: (1) Innovative and Collaborative Problem Solving 
  Environment in Distributed Resources; (2) Deploying Production Grids 
  -- Beyond the Hype; and (3) Scientific Instruments and Sensors on the 
  Grid; and three tutorials: (1) Gridbus Toolkit, delivered by 
  researchers (Rajkumar Buyya and his team) from the GRIDS Lab, 
  University of Melbourne; (2) Globus Toolkit, delivered by Foster from 
  Argonne National Lab; and (3) Nimrod-G by researchers (David Abramson 
  and his team) from Monash University. Presentation slides of some of 
  these tutorials are available for download from the conference Web

  The breadth and depth of the conference presentations emphasized the 
  widespread developments taking place in Grid and e-Science. A second
conference will be held next year Dec. 4 -6   in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
