[Communications Research Centre is hosting a number of information days in
regards to promoting collaborating with European researchers under the 7th
Framework program. If CANARIE receives funding for the continuation of the
CANARIE network international research collaboration will be strongly
encouraged especially in the areas of eInfrastructures
(cyber-infrastructure) and Internet of the Future. Those interested in
research in these areas are strongly encouraged to attend these Info days -

the webcast.

March 15 – Montreal, CRIM, 550 Sherbrooke Street, West, Room 100

Background Information:

As the European Union rolls out the FP7 Program, it is critical to have the
knowledge and information disseminated to Canadian researchers in order to
take advantage of opportunities available to Canadians.

As the ICT Canadian National Contact Point, in partnership with the IST-EC 2
project and ERA-Can, FP7 Information Days are being planned the week of
March 12 for Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. ICT is the largest component of
FP7 with a budget of $5.2 billion Euros. At the Information Days you will
be provided with information outlining the 7 ICT Challenges; how Canadian
researchers can participate in the EU COST program; and the newly
established ERA-Can office will cover information relating to the other
thematic areas of FP7, including life sciences, health, biotechnology,
agriculture, environment and food.

12 mars – Toronto, MaRS Centre, Heritage Building, 101, rue College

2A.

15 mars – Montréal, CRIM, 550, rue Sherbrooke Ouest, salle 100

Contexte

Yes title for my talk is fine.

Yes - I could be available on March 12 in Toronto

Given a large focus is on European Next Generation INteret and
eInfrastructure, if it is ok with you, I would like to send out notice to a
number of people at UoT, Platform, Alcatel and some other companies that I
think would be keen to participate.

Please let me know once the details are firmed up and I will send out a
notice on my list

Bill

Hi Bill

Susan and I are still playing telephone tag but in the meantime I am
attaching the "Draft Agenda" for the
Ottawa FP7 Info Day on March 14. I would like your comments on the
title of your presentation and
if the time alloted is sufficient. And to follow-up from your earlier
email, would you present at the
Toronto, March 12 and Montreal, March 16 Info Days as well? It would be
great to have you.

For the March 6 Global eInfrastructure Info Day organized by the EU, I
would need confirmation of
your participation on this event as well as 2 ppt slides to give to the
organizers so the time can be
alloted accordingly.

Thanks Bill

Cheers
Debbie
