With all that's going on in the world today, access to accurate and
unbiased information has never been more important...or more at threat!

Please take an hour of your time to
PROTECT MEDIA DIVERSITY

(Some of you may think the media is already beyond hope, but new policy
changes threaten to make it worse.)

Right now the U.S. government is in the process of dismantling the few
remaining protections against more media consolidation and monopoly.  The
Federal Communications Commssion (FCC) has a rulemaking open now to
"investigate" these issues, and it is more important than ever to have
public participation in this process.

They hear from big business all the time - now they need to hear from you!
At stake are rules that were designed to protect media diversity, localism
and independence.

main FCC comment period ends Jan. 2.

Points to Convey:
- More deregulation and concentration have not served the public
- There has not been adequate study of the effects the proposed changes
would have on media diversity
- You support the public hearing in Richmond, VA in February, but they need
to hold hearings in all parts of the country to allow the broadest
participation possible.
