Well - Muthu's disillusionment is characterized by his feeling helpless about the situation that
- eventhough we know what the problem is
- eventhough we know the various solutions to that problem
- nothing can be done
Muthu does not feel cheated, as Muthu has nothing to expect, as Muthu is well aware of the dynamics
of democracy, characterized by the three axes of evil. Further, Muthu is steadfast in the opinion
that democracy will only widen the divide that exists among the already diverse socio political and
economic fabrics of India.
Muthu makes such sweeping statements not after watching movies or performing Heavy Metal, but after
carefully studying what happens around, how are relationships among the three axes of evil being
manipulated, who stands to gain and who stands to lose in this imbroglio and all that.
Until a cure, instead of a relief, is bought about, Muthu will not feel good about India, neither
will i.
If "None of the above" is implemented by the Election Commission, i (not Muthu, as Muthu is
fictitious) will be the first person to cast my "precious" vote. Only then would i have truly
exercised my rights of the franchise, only then would i have fulfilled my duties of being a
patriotic Indian.
Being from Tamil Nadu, fortunately, all Muthu and i need to do is to read the newspapers to know
what is happening in the North. The Karunanidhis and Jayalalithaas of the North are far more
powerful and capable than their originals in the South. We sympathize with our friends from the
North. We thought that Andhra Pradesh was in-between, until those PWG waalas bombed Naiduji's car.
Muthu asks all of us a really very very simple question: Whom to vote for? I donot know. Do you?
Think!
