"The case stemmed from an FIR registered by the Delhi Police?s Economic
Offences Wing in August 2020. Within days, the ED opened its own
money-laundering investigation based on the FIR, alleging malpractice in
funds received by *Newsclick* from abroad. In 2021, the agency conducted
raids on Purkayastha?s home and the news portal?s office, alleging
violations of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

On May 29 this year, Delhi high court Justice Neena Bansal Krishna quashed
both the police FIR and the ED?s case. The judgement was made publicly

Tradition and spirituality
The day is observed as traditional festival  far removed from spiritual
significance.The church campaigned against vulgarity at  Carnaval, but
except for Fr Silva there is no ecclesiastical  caution .The Martyrdom,
decapitation of St John for sacriliges   life of Herod incurred his wraught
to please and obey his promise.Cousin of Jesus

Was presucurosor of new  Baptism, by one  whose laces he was unworthy to
release As Zacarius doubted his birth at advanced age   he  became dumb
till his birth.He was one with Jesus who escaped  mass execution

Now the Govt is fuelling catholic event for tourism promotion to the hilt

Jumping in wells ,ponds rivers in an inaberated state has caused
unavoidable deaths.Special types of snacks  ,includes,  PATTOLEO  ,
jackfruit colourful dresses by females in particular ,   flower crowns ,
headgear are   an unique tradition.It is observed as an ocassion of  son in
law visit to mother in law .Sangod in Siolim is much awaited  event that
draws spectators from all over.The custom of youth going around villages
with Coconut stock (Piddo),drenched in heavy rains without shirts etc
striking thrice with slogan "Sao Joao  baint podlo saiba ,voir cadat taka,
re Sao Joa patole magotta" Sao Jao. A Coconut , sometimes liquor was the
traditional reward

One  wonders where is the

 sanctity of martyrdom of Sao Joao, reverence to him in this celebrations ,
which is not the focuss at all.

A pious,  spiritual event is converted into a meaningless   ,vulgar
carnaval .
