The Homophobic Military

We are fighting war for our rights here and it's just so blatantly 
apparent that gays are being discriminated against by the military 
chiefs of staff. How can we have a government and military that's 
homophobic, anti-gay, biased, and discriminating against people 
without just cause??? This is going to end! We are going to get rid 
of all these homophobics and anti-gays from our government and 
military. We will fire them all and take away their pensions!

By these acts they are teaching children that there is something 
wrong with gays, as if they are not normal, and teaching the children 
it's alright to discriminate against gays and that they should 
discriminate against gays. Is this the kind of government and 
military that we want teaching our children such things? Absolutely 
NOT! We will not stand for it and they will be brought down from the 
seats of power.

They are definitely spreading homophobia to the youth and children 
from the top down. It's no use fighting homophobia at the ground 
level, when they are spreading it from the top down. If the leaders, 
presidents, generals, priests, and teachers are spreading anti-gay 
sentiments and literally discriminating against gays publicly, how 
can you stop homophobia from the bottom up? You can not stop it from 
the bottom up! We must stop it from the top down! We must have 
leaders, presidents, generals, priests, priestesses, and teachers, 
teaching our children that homosexuality is beautiful and natural 
from the top down. This is what we teach our children and will teach 
the children of the world. 

Our goal is to get rid of this scum from the seats of power and 
replace them with real leaders. They will not discriminate against 
gays, etc., and they will teach the children that homosexuality is 
natural and beautiful. They will not carry out witch hunts in the 
military for gays and fire them, threaten them, beat them up, or 
murder them. They will not implement two-faced policies like don't 
ask, don't tell, that only gives them the power to conduct witch 
hunts. They will not have a secret agenda to keep a christian 
dominated military, and oppress others of opposing moral-values 
through stealing their rights to serve openly in the military. We 
will turn the tables on them and fire anyone who displays publicly 
any homophobic or discriminating behavior. 

We have entered the age of high technology and have seen civil rights 
movement after civil rights movement, advance one after the other.  
Why is it that we have to fight so hard for each and every right and 
liberty, especially in a country that is supposed to be founded on 
liberty and civil freedoms??? It's because what this country stands 
for, is not what it truly is. It's a lie, a smokescreen, and a 
fantasy built up to keep the masses stupefied and oppressed. This 
country like many others is built truly upon rich class dynasties 
that have partnered up with christianity in an attempt to keep 
control of you and their ways of life.

Every civil right and liberty that we gain takes away from the rich 
class and the ruling powers, be them government, military, or 
religion, etc. As we gain more and more civil rights and liberties, 
we slowly strip their powers away, and drain their wealth. Then they 
have to find new ways to try and gain a greater hold over us. For 
example, they have forced our dependence upon fossil fuels, by 
suppressing technology, etc. 

The right-wing christians and rich class has it in mind to dominate 
everyone and oppress them by stealing their rights by literally 
forcing their moral-values upon everyone through civil laws, while 
the rich sit back and count their money, cause they gave the 
christian majority what they wanted and in return gained more 
political power, wealth, and clout. What you are witnessing out there 
is a big game they have creating, with the decks and tables stacked 
against the little guys. This has been going on forever and in this 
great day and age of high technology and supposed spiritual awakening 
we still are fighting for simple civil rights and liberties that 
should have come mandatory with the territory and foundation of such 
a false country or set or ideals. 

We still live in the dark ages of humanity. These are primeval times 
and the right-wing only seeks to keep everyone here with them. They 
actually want to take things back before the modern progressive and 
civil rights movements began. They want to take away civil rights, 
workers rights, and benefits. So, tell me the truth, do you really 
want this kind of government, military, and religious authorities, 
controlling you and your children, oppressing you, oppressing your 
children, oppressing everyone??? I'd say NOT! You do the math! 
Homophobic leaders equal homophobic education, equals homophobic 
supporters, equals spreading homophobia, equals homophobia!!! These 
homophobic leaders must be shot down from power NOW!

Army Dismisses Gay Arabic Linguists

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Nine Army linguists, including six trained to 
speak Arabic, have been dismissed from the military because they are 
gay. 

  

The soldiers' dismissals come at a time when the military is facing a 
critical shortage of translators and interpreters for the war on 
terrorism. 


Seven of the soldiers were discharged after telling superiors they 
are gay, and the two others got in trouble when they were caught 
together after curfew, said Steve Ralls, spokesman for the 
Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a group that defends 
homosexuals in the military. 


Six were specializing in Arabic, two were studying Korean and one was 
studying Mandarin Chinese. All were at the Defense Language Institute 
in Monterey, the military's primary language training center. 


The government has aggressively recruited Arabic speakers since the 
Sept. 11 attacks. 


"We face a drastic shortage of linguists, and the direct impact of 
Arabic speakers is a particular problem," said Donald R. Hamilton, 
who documented the need for more linguists in a report to Congress as 
part of the National Commission on Terrorism. 


One of the discharged linguists said the military's policy on gays is 
hurting its cause. 


"It's not a gay-rights issue. I'm arguing military proficiency 
issues — they're throwing out good, quality people," said Alastair 
Gamble, a former Army specialist. 


Harvey Perritt, spokesman for the Army Training and Doctrine Command 
at Fort Monroe in Tidewater, Va., confirmed the dismissals occurred 
between October 2001 and September 2002, but declined to comment 
further on the cases. 


He said 516 linguists enrolled in the Arabic course this year at the 
Monterey institute and 365 graduated. 


The military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy allows gays to serve 
provided they keep quiet about their sexual orientation. 

Gamble and former Pfc. Robert Hicks were discovered in Gamble's room 
during a surprise inspection in April, Gamble said. 

After their discharges, Gamble and Hicks applied for other federal 
jobs where they could use their language skills in the war on 
terrorism, but neither was hired, Gamble said.
