What else would we be? What is the alternative you're referring to? Also, to argue that, what is an animal? It is just a basic standardized classification we give to certain types of lifeforms. We truly have no idea what we are, where we are, why we are, or how we got here? So, stating that we are animals is a fact is rather simplistic and even human arrogance to believe that we actually know much about ourselves or our surroundings, all based upon the actual facts! So, what are we? What is an animal, if it's only a tag we invented to classify ourselves? I could go on and on.
