being anti-capitalist does not = communist.  in over 3 years on this list, i have only seen one (maybe two) posters who claimed communism...

what is progressive to some, is of course different from what is progressive to some others. in s.e. asia, progressive/moderate/liberal are often very close, if not the same. to get an idea of this, read noor's "towards a progressive islam on our own terms":

for many in the 'west,' *progressive* means communism-- which apparently they percieve as a progress. for many in the 'east,' *progressive* means thinking outside of the 'conservative' box.
