hmmm... i don't see in this article where it says that... but..
regardless of that, i think this particular incident should not have
been blown up to make it appear to be an action particularly against
muslims -- it is obvious this teacher should have been removed even
before this incident, for general inability to function in a
professional position.

i think CAIR would have done more good by pointing out that islam is
against all types of bias and bigotry, and is against any and all
disrespect of any person for any reason.  they could have put this whole
thing back into perspective by emphasizing that it was about a rotten
person who acted against all sorts of people.  i think to make this one
part of the teacher's behavior any different from all the other
offensive things this person did is to make it seem that the concern of
muslims is for muslims only, which i think creates barriers and makes
the ones already there that much harder to ....vaporize.
