salam, furqan, thank you so much. that was a very important post. i don't know if you saw it or not, but there were a discussion about concentrating on palestine (instead of dealing with all that face the ummah.) unfortunately, and this is a very sad truth, most Muslims do not even know where acheh/aceh is... let alone the horrible thingies those in it have and continue to face. of course, if acheh was oppressed by non-muslims, perhaps it would be a different story. acheh is oppressed by a muslim country (with 90% muslim population.) and as you noted, lost the same amount of people in 27 years that palestine has lost over 50 years. a few years ago, i met a muslim from aceh and i felt such an embrassment for never hearing about their hardship. and i immediately asked family members and friends... and like me... they were clueless. this is because our own (muslim) media does not show us what is going on in our world by us... rather it is less "ugly" to show what is going on in our world by others. thanks again- afdhere Afdhere Jama Editorial Director HURIYAH Publications S A N F R A N C I S C O [email protected] http://www.huriyahmag.com ---------- Get some great ideas here for your sweetheart on Valentine's Day - and beyond.
