after asking how we know that what we are doing is 
'useful/working', you say:

I don't see it as separate. All we can do and all Allah 
expects us to do is 'the right thing'. The outcomes are not 
ours; they are Allah's. If what we do 'works', it's not 
because of us but because of Allah. If it doesn't work... 
the important thing is what we did. We will only know 
whether it 'worked' on The Day when we confront (or are 
confronted) by our Lord. For me, whether it 'worked' will 
be determined by whether I am able to smile and say 'I 
did my bit' or am not. That's all that's important (to me).
