i didn't know the major madhabs were started by non-arabs. i thought all four madhabs were started by arabs (check the link below.) but besides that, all the major muslim "paths" were carved by arabs--- hence why a lot of people carry much of arab culture as "muslim" (the most apparent of which is -- for example -- the khamiis and 3immamah where in the arab world most arabs, including non-muslims, wear.)

also, i don't know about other branches but the largest branch, sunnism, have had a majority of arab scholars;

i would like to point out a rather obvious point of this arab power amongst the muslims. while the paths arabs start seem to grow fast in other muslim lands (such recent paths would include wahabbism, which is the fastest growing path in islam now), non-arab paths seem to go a whole lot slower in the arab world. why do you think this is? :)
