Asslam-o-Alikoom,

Perhaps in Middle Eastern countries majority of Muslims may
follow Shafi'i school but not in Inida and Pakistan (South
Asia).  Muslims of those two countries follow Hanafi school.

The bigger question is does it matter what school of thought one
may choose to follow?
