Questions on sexuality and marriage

Dear Talib and others who have wondered about sex and marriage in Islam,

I just finished reading the new compilation of progressive articles by 
Muslims, (ital) Progressive Muslims (end ital) edited by Omid Safi, and it 
has a terrifically good article on marriage in Islam by Kecia Ali who read 
all the original source materials from fiqh and it's pretty exhaustive, I 
would imagine you would learn all you would need to know about men's and 
women's rights and duties in marriage under the 4 sunni schools.  It's also 
well-written and relatively easy to read (for a scholarly article).

From the same book I recommend Scott Kugle's article on homosexuality. It's 
really well-researched and also well-written.
