RE: Annual PMN conference?

Assalamu alaykum Dear Friends,

Yes, there is a Yahoo! mailing list we just started as an organizing
committee for a North American Progressive Muslim "Convening" Conference.
We're still very much in the very preliminary stages.

The idea came out of the meetups that MWU! had organized--we had gotten lots
of feedback on people wanting to harness some of the energy of the local
meetups, as well as the MWU! readership, toward a more concrete organizing
effort.

If anyone's interested in working on the project (e.g. logistics,
fundraising, program, etc.), then please email me at

For those who are not able to make the time commitment to actively work on
the organizing right now, I'll be sending out periodic updates to the list

i heard there is a group on muslim wakeup that is in the process of working
on a conference---not sure where though. i dont think the intent of the d.c.
conf. was to be an annual event.
