It went very well. Aaron Drake, Alcor's Transport Coordinator,  
instructed; he was assisted by Eric Vogt. I thought this was by far  
the best of the several training sessions I have attended.

We had 11 attendees, all of whom stayed start to finish both days.  
Aaron finished up with an actual "live, hands-on" session that started  
with the patient on the floor with the end imminent, and ended with  
the patient in the PIB, covered with real ice, with the Thumper really  
on and ventilating, and NOT-real, but well-simulated, meds being  
really drawn, really set up on the tray, and really pushed into a real  
IV unit.

Our patient got very timely treatment, since he was pronounced in the  
middle of a dozen cryonicists with full kit. He got everything he  
needed in timely fashion, though definitely not as quickly as could  
have been done by half as many people with twice as much practice. We  
lost half of one dose of meds, but everything else got pushed and the  
Thumper was thumping. However, if our patient had anything  
communicable, he had the opportunity to share it, as the caregivers  
completely neglected their own protective measures. We will do better  
next time.

Texas now has its own mailing list - thanks to David Croft for setting  
this up and to Larry Alkoff for pitching in as co-manager. If you are  
a Texas cryonicist and want to participate in this mailing list, you

Texas also now has its own emergency transport kit. This is stored at  
my office, which means that everything except the PIB/Thumper can be  
kept at freezer or room temperature, as appropriate. The PIB is in the  
warehouse, and there's room to store it extended, so when it's needed,  
we can grab it quickly and go. Two local Alcor members - me and Monica  
Stephens - are employees, and the office is open during all regular  
business hours and somewhat later. I'll be making arrangements with a  
couple of non-member employees so they can be contacted to open the  
building if it's closed and Monica and I are both unavailable. Regina  
and the session attendees have full information, and Aaron, Eric, and  
the attendees have "eyeballed" the storage arrangements, so  
accessibility should not be an issue.
