I think that article don't see the real progress:
For me, the Scotch Brite for cleaning dishes remains one of the bigest
technological progress of the 20th century.
The fridge has been too an interesting progress.
Now, there is a religious fear about the progress.
Any new idea is fight with te last violence, only speculation is "good".
