Is hydrogen sulfide an alternative to cryonics?

One huge plus is that you don't have to die to use it!

First, the weight of "abuse" is so high that it easily overwhelms
positive ratings.

Second, the Rating System is hardly used, thus any discussion of
balance is misleading.

Third, the structure of the Rating System encourages strategic
responses. This could easily be eliminated by using the standard
moderation features of a mailing list manager.

So, the current System doesn't work, can't be made to work, and is
unnecessary.

For continuity, neutrality, and public relations reasons, the List
needs to be the responsibility of an organization having the best
interests of the Cryonics Movement as part of its mission.

Subject: CryoNet Reboot

For all those who are in high dudgeon over my previous message:

http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/dsp.cgi?msg=32481
Collateral Damage or Misguided Malarkey?

which offered a quick-and-dirty rating scheme patch
after a humbling assessment of CryoNet:

"It's just so 90's and way overdue for a reboot."

I just set up a phpBB at:

http://www.cryonet.org/phpBB3/

with a forum called "CryoNet Reboot". It currently contains
two topics: "Requirements" and "Implementations". I posted my
initial wish list there under "Requirements".

Anyone can view the messages without logging in.
Posting messages requires establishing an account,
by supplying a username, password, and email address.

The messages at this forum likely will be ephemeral,
not archived as CryoNet messages. Although I set up
the forum to avoid distracting CryoNet with lots of
Internet, ISP, and programming details, some of the
"Requirements" messages will be useful on CryoNet, too.
(You all know how to post to CryoNet, so don't depend
on me to post everything that you think is important.)

Let me know what you think.
