Subject: Appeals court hears cryonics arguments over Orville Martin Ri...

The Iowa Court of Appeals on Tuesday heard oral arguments in the case
involving the fight for the remains of a Burlington man, who decided to have
a cryonics firm freeze his head after he died.

Alcor Life Extension Foundation, a nonprofit corporation based out of
Scotsdale, Ariz., filed the case and asked the appellate court to review the
ruling made by Des Moines County District Court that refused to force
Orville Martin Richardson's siblings to consent to disinter the body for
suspension in a cryonic process.

      Alcor's position.

This case will probably be controversial even amongst cryonics people, but for what it is worth I thoroughly approve. No one can predict the future so no one can be absolutely certain that this apparently hopeless case is really hopeless.
