I often find myself stealing Delany unconsciously. The last time I caught myself doing this, I was channelling The Einstein Intersection . . . motes cycloned and swirled in the space where he had been . . . in my story "A Thousand Ways of Density", I deliberately took the idea of the Golden (The Star Pit) and made it a bar where Goldens go to drink . . . the only people who can travel past the heliosphere of the sun. Delany's my hero, how can I avoid imitating him a little bit? In the story above, I made the link explicit by saying "Delany's Golden".
