HI
"I escaped one time to one of the house that we used to live in, of hers, and I didn't get away so they got me."

the most important to me right now of the things I've learnt from studying Delany's words is the idea that we learn what we're doing by doing it. I haven't found it only in him, and perhaps not so whole in him, but certainly it's there when he's talking about Finding Out how a story goes by imagining it clearly, in a metaphor of his: having heard an intriguing rumor, going to the place talked about and interviewing those who'd know, reconciling, finding out.

find out about a rapist for hire, a vocation he claims to have met practitioners of.. find out not just first glance obvious things, if you're really interested, find out more things, imagine it as clearly as you can. imagining-clearly takes on a special quality if it includes checking the consistency of parts of the imagination against each other.

different from having a meaning and conveying it. having a story, having a point, having: finding!
