I meant no offense,Alberto.  I have only heard wife beating is tolerated in Brazil, as it is in many countries.  In some countries honor murders are still tolerated.  The point I was making is that no country is unique when it comes to aberrant behavior.  Japan has a high rate of suicide, but very few homicides.  Here in the USA we have celebrities who beat and even murder the mothers of their children, molest their child fans, flash their private parts, etc.  Fame and money doesn't always get them off any longer.  The press is relentless in exposing scandalous behavior nowadays, even presidents are exposed for having affairs.  I am not defending my country, but I would rather live here than Mexico, North Korea, or Saudi Arabia...
