I've been on this list since the early '90s (mostly lurking, obviously),
and I remember when it was a much more robust forum. With the burgeoning
of the internet, many other competing fora for discussion have
flourished, and I guess most folks are getting their sf fix elselist. 

However, it is also difficult if not impossible to maintain a reasonable
level of discussion unless a list membership is relatively large. It
might be possible to promote this list in new reaches of the web, and
gather a new, larger membership that will reinvigorate discussion here.
(Maybe in conjunction with an LOC blog page/site?)

But barring an intentional recruitment effort like that, it might be
best to let the list go away. Although I am curious where else people
are having sf discussions of substance, aside from Usenet groups (some
of which remain relatively active and engaged in genre areas). I also
see good exchanges on G+ from time to time as well.
