CFP: ICA Panel about Cultural Studies Beyond Boundaries

For those of you who plan to attend the upcoming ICA conference in D.C., I
am seeking a few more panelists:

*CFP: ICA Panel about Cultural Studies Beyond Boundaries*

At its core, cultural studies interrogates the notion of borders. It
explores and complicates binaries, canons, and geographical demarcations.
and even turns such a critical lens upon itself--cultural studies theorists
like Stuart Hall explicitly presented their approach to scholarship as a
framework or modality rather than as a structured discipline with clearly
delineated boundaries. As such, while cultural studies is often associated
with the institution of the Birmingham School, the Birmingham School has
never "owned" cultural studies and indeed cultural studies has been
practiced across the globe without necessarily being described or
recognized as "cultural studies". In a similar fashion, cultural studies
traverses disciplinary boundaries, manifesting in many expressions and
under many names.

For this panel, we seek contributions that explore the fluidity of cultural
studies and its relationship to borders.
Possible contributions include but are not limited to:

   - Global manifestations of cultural studies, particularly those not
   defined as such
   - Alternative histories or timelines to cultural studies
   - Cultural studies & national borders
   - Cultural studies and how it has shaped other fields/disciplines
   - Expressions of cultural studies within the academy not defined as such
