The Charles Chesnutt Association is offering two sessions at the American Literature Association Conference, May 23-26 in Boston, MA.


We welcome proposals to participate in either the open call panel exploring Chesnutt's literary achievements or the roundtable on teaching Charles Chesnutt. 1 A Panel featuring current scholarship on any one of Chesnutt's works or any aspect of his literary artistry. Please send send in a title and abstract of 100-250 works along with a c.v. or description of your recent scholarly publications. 2. A Round-table on Teaching Charles Chesnutt: We welcome proposals for brief presentations (five to ten minutes) on the teaching of Chesnutt's stories or novels, which will be followed by a discussion with the audience. Please send an abstract of 75 -150 words describing your plans and focus. Deadline: Please submit your abstract for the panel and/or round-table no later than January 20, 2019 to Professor Ernestine Pickens-Glass at [email protected] or [email protected]
