*CALL FOR PAPERS*


We are now inviting proposals for individual papers, workshops, panels
and symposia (including a facilitated reading of =C2=A0a chosen core text)=
 on
topics and/or activities related to this broad theme. Please send a
proposal of up to 350 words specifying;

=E2=80=A2A title for your session with your name, contact details and affi=
liated
workplace
=E2=80=A2A 350 word abstract describing the topic to be explored and its
relation to the conference themes.
=E2=80=A2Please include the format of the proposed session, including deta=
ils of
planned activities. This is not counted as part of the abstract but
gives an idea of large or small group teaching, experiential learning
and/or workshop.

*Keynote speakers*

Dr Elelwani Ramugondo is a professor at the University of Cape Town
(UCT), and Interim Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Education in the Health
Sciences Faculty. She is also Chair of UCT=E2=80=99s Academic Freedom Comm=
ittee.
Her publications cover a range of topics including play research,
theorisation in the context of discovery and the politics of human
occupation. Elelwani is frequently invited to speak on transformation
and decolonising the academy at conferences both nationally and
internationally.


Professor Tracey Loughran is Chair in Modern History at the University
of Essex. She is a historian of twentieth-century Britain, with
particular interests in the interaction of ideas and experiences of
body, mind and self. This thread connects diverse research projects on
'shell-shock=E2=80=99 in First World War Britain, psychoanalysis in the in=
terwar
period, and female bodily experiences, psychological subjectivities and
familial relationships in postwar Britain. She currently holds a
Wellcome Trust Investigator Award in Humanities and =C2=A0Social Sciences =
for
the project Body, Self and Family: Womens Psychological, =C2=A0Emotional a=
nd
Bodily Health in Britain, c.1960-1990 (2017-2020).
