Dear members of the SHERA community,

The SHERA board would like to thank everyone who took part in the 2016
ASEEES convention in Washington DC. It was a very exciting and productive
event, with numerous panels, roundtables, discussion groups, and
get-togethers -- not least of which was the SHERA membership meeting, where
numerous issues vital to our organization were discussed. The minutes of
the meeting will be sent out very soon, but I wanted to write to you about
one item on the agenda that requires our immediate attention. Tamara
Jhashi, who administered our listserv since 2006 (!) is stepping down from
her position because of her demanding duties as Dean of School of Liberal
Arts at Mercy College. Tamara has been a vital part of SHERA and we will
miss her dearly, but her departure also means that we will need to find a
new listserv host for SHERA. Since many of you work at institutions of
various kinds -- colleges, universities, museums -- we ask you to
investigate this possibility with your IT departments. Tamara was able to
secure the listserv service to SHERA free of charge -- and this, of course,
would be an ideal arrangement. If there is a possibility of finding a host
who would want to charge for this service, we would also be interested
in considering it. Please send your ideas, suggestions, leads to us at
[email protected]. We are looking to change the host
beginning in January 2017.

Thank you!

Natasha Kurchanova
