*PHD STUDENTSHIPS IN HISTORY OF ART AT CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY*

The Department of History of Art at Cambridge University is pleased to
announce opportunities for PhD studentships in Russian visual culture, in
partnership with the CEELBAS Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Russian,
Slavonic and East European Languages and Culture. This is in addition to
the opportunities for PhD studentships funded by Cambridge University
schemes, which may be applied to any topic which the University Teaching
Officers in the Department have the expertise to supervise. For more
details on the University Teaching Officers and their research areas, see
http://www.hoart.cam.ac.uk/people/utos

Funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and
coordinated by the Centre for East European Language-Based Area Studies
(CEELBAS), CEELBAS provides studentships for selected candidates who have
been offered places on PhD courses in Russian, Slavonic and East European
languages and culture at one of the four universities in the CDT
consortium: UCL, Cambridge, Manchester and Oxford. For details on
eligibility and application information, please consult the CDT homepage:

http://www.ceelbas.ac.uk/students/cdt/

The new studentships are open only to applicants who are 'ordinarily
resident' in the United Kingdom or European Union. Overseas students from
outside the EU who wish to pursue doctoral study at Cambridge may apply for
funding from the Gates Cambridge Trust. Information on the Gates Cambridge
scholarships is available here:
