SHERA election results and the new board

Dear members of the SHERA community,

Thank you to those of you who voted in the SHERA election.  I would like to
congratulate on their election and welcome the new members of the SHERA
board:  Karen Kettering, our new Vice-President, who is elected for the
period of 2 years; Corina L. Apostol, elected to be the Web News Editor for
the period of 1 year; and Yelena Kalinsky, our Listserv Administrator,
elected for the period of 3 years.

The election of new members inaugurates a transition period, which happens
every 2 years with the incoming Vice-President and a departure of the
incumbent President.

I would like to thank Tamara Jhashi, our departing Listserv Editor, for her
faithful service to SHERA in the course of the past decade.  She has been
invaluable in maintaining the listserv running when SHERA was in the period
of latency.  Without her, the organization may not have survived.

Amy Bryzgel, the departing Web News Editor, did a wonderful job with
updating us on the news in our field and introducing our members to
innovative social media interfaces, such as Twitter and Instagram.  She is
a very important asset in our organization, and we want to thank her for
her contribution to SHERA.

Meanwhile, Eva Forgacs will transition to the position of the President,
which she will occupy for 2 years; Ksenia Nouril will stay in her position
of Secretary and Treasurer for another year; and Anna Sokolina will serve
on her post as SHERA-SAH Liaison for 2 more years. Our Members-at-Large --
Hanna Chuchvaha, Nicolas Iljine, Natalia Kolodzei and Andrey Shabanov
-- will also stay on board for another year.

We hope to see many of your at the upcoming SHERA membership meeting held
during CAA in New York City, on Friday, February 17, from 5:30 until 7 PM,
at Bryant Suite, 2nd floor New York Hilton Midtown, where you can welcome
our new board members.

It has been a wonderful experience and a great pleasure to serve as SHERA
President for the past two years.  Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
