Dear Colleagues,

A colleague from Notre Dame specializing in literature is putting together
an art-related panel and seeks papers for ASEEES next November. He's asked
me to post his CFP on SHERA's list. If interested, please respond to him
directly.

Best regards,
Margaret

I=E2=80=99m looking for participants for a panel on the broad topic of =E2=
=80=9CArt in/and
Russian literature=E2=80=9D for this year=E2=80=99s ASEEES convention in Ch=
icago. The panel
can accommodate papers that deal with 1) ekphrasis in Russian literature,
and 2) the role of visual art in Russian authors. The overall topic of the
convention agrees well with the transgressive potential of such practices,
especially in the Soviet period.

My own paper focuses on Vladimir Nabokov's views on contemporary
art and addresses Nabokov's views on the history of art and the place of
contemporary (avant-garde) art in it.

Contact me off-list at [email protected] if you are interested or have
questions.

Sincerely,

Sergey Karpukhin
University of Notre Dame
