SHERA Is Moving to the H-Net Commons!

Dear SHERA Listserv Subscribers,

As SHERA's new listserv administrator, I am writing to let you know that
our list is moving to the H-Net Commons <http://networks.h-net.org>. SHERA
will have its own H-Net network where we can continue our discussions, post
news items and announcements, and do a whole lot of other things, like
upload images, share syllabi, commission book and exhibition reviews in our
field, and share resources. Corina Apostol, SHERA's Web News Editor and I
will moderate the posts to start, and all subscribers will be able to post
their own discussions, announcements, etc. through the site. The old SHERA
listserv logs will also be archived and available at the site.

HOW THE MIGRATION WILL WORK:

In one week, on *Wednesday, March 15*, H-Net will migrate the SHERA
listserv subscriber list into the H-Net Commons. Your accounts will be
automatically subscribed to the new H-SHERA network, which will be called
H-SHERA and located at https://networks.h-net.org/h-shera. If you already
have an H-Net profile, that profile will be subscribed to H-SHERA; if you
do not have an H-Net profile, H-Net will create one for you and subscribe
it to H-SHERA. Your subscription will not be publicly visible, and only
H-Net and SHERA staff will be able to see who is subscribed.

If you wish to remain on the SHERA list, *you do not need to do anything* and
you will continue receiving SHERA messages to your current email address. *If
you wish to opt out of the H-Net migration,* please send an email to me at
[email protected] with the subject line "H-SHERA Opt Out" and I
will remove you from the list. Once the migration is complete, the SHERA
listserv will no longer accept messages and Oakland will close down the
list.

I will send a reminder message in advance of the migration with
instructions on how to post messages to the new network, update your
profile, and more. If you have any questions or concerns about the
migration or your subscription, please feel free to write me at
[email protected].

In the meanwhile, I would like to thank Tamara Jhashi for continuing to
moderate our list in this transition, even while she is no longer at
Oakland and busy with her duties at Mercy College. Big thank you, Tamara!
