RE-IMAGINING CULTURE IN THE RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR
What was the impact of the Russo-Japanese War on the cultures of Japan and
Russia?

This one-day conference seeks to bring new perspectives on the role and
shape of culture in wartime society. The conference will provide a unique
opportunity to bring together specialists in Japanese and Russian history,
literature, art and cultural studies, and has been organised to mark the
centenary of the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War in 1904.

One-day conference to be held on 27 March 2004 at Birkbeck College,
