Dodge/Sad News To: Dear Friends,**** ** ** On behalf of the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers, I am writing to you with some very sad news. Norton T. Dodge died on November 5, 2011, at the age of 84. **** ** ** Dodge created one of the largest collections of Soviet Nonconformist art in the world which he and his wife Nancy generously donated to the Zimmerli in the mid 1990s. In addition to his passion for Soviet dissident art, Norton was a noted economist and a dedicated environmentalist. Dodge was a faculty member of the University of Maryland, College Park, and Saint Mary’s College in Maryland. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Rutgers. ** ** ** ** The Zimmerli will hold a memorial service to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man in the spring. As soon as the date is set with Norton’s wife, Nancy, and Norton’s family, we will send you complete information about this tribute at the Zimmerli.**** ** ** At the family’s request, immediate arrangements are private.
