Call for applications: Second Polish-Russian Summer School of Cyrillic
Paleography and Neography (15th-18th centuries)

The Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding and the Institute
of History, University of Warsaw are pleased to announce that the Second
Polish-Russian Summer School of Cyrillic Paleography and Neography
(15th-18th centuries) will run this summer, 2014. The School is a series of
intensive courses in Cyrillic Paleography and Neography, which will be
given by experts in their respective fields from a wide range of Polish and
Russian institutions. The courses will be given in Russian. The school will
be hosted by the Institute of History, University of Warsaw (Krakowskie
Przedmieście 26/28, Warsaw, Poland) on 13-25 July 2014.

The school is intended for MA and PhD students as well as scholars whose
research interests focus on the history of Russia and East-Central Europe,
and whose studies are based on Ruthenian and Russian sources. MA students
of History, History of Art and Slavic Studies, MA holders in History,
History of Art and Slavic Studies as well as PhD holders in Humanities, who
are under forty years old, are warmly welcome to apply. The School is also
meant for the participants of the first edition held in 2013. Adequate
knowledge of Russian and Polish is a must for all applicants.

Application

The final deadline for applying is 4 May 2014. Applicants are requested to
deliver to the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding (Jasna
14/16A, 00-041 Warsaw, Poland) personally or by regular mail a filled out

a copy of BA, MA or PhD diploma and one recommendation letter from an
established academic.
Costs
A school fee of 250 EURO is payable two weeks prior to the first day of
classes. It covers costs of housing between 13-26 July, and lunches between
14-18 and 21-25 July, 2014. The school is free of charge for Polish
citizens as well as foreign PhD students and employees of the Polish
scientific institutions.
