Dear all, Riga (Latvia) - along with Umea (Sweden) - is European Captial of Culture for 2014. Several exhibitions and public talks that might be of your interest will take place within the framework of this event: *13. 06. - 27. 07. 2014. "Little Vera"*. Contemporary art center "kim?" has invited two New York based artists - Sanya Kantarovsky and Ella Kruglyanskaya - to interpret the artistic legacy of Vera Mukhina (note for those who'll come: V.Mukhina's memorial flat is near the exhibition venue). Exhibition will be preceded by a public talk "The New Woman of Socialist Realism: Women Artists and Images of Women" from art historian Christina Kiaer on the 12th of June.
