Dear SHERANs, I saw the e-mail below on the SEELANGS listserv and am forwarding it in case it's of interest to those of you who work on late 19th - early 20th century Russian art. The other SHERA officers and I discussed recently the fact that it would be great for SHERA to have a presence at the regional ASEEES-affiliated conferences, and this is one opportunity for that. Best, Ksenya Gurshtein SHERA Web News Editor ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: R R <[email protected]> Date: Wed, Nov 26, 2014 at 10:28 AM Subject: [SEELANGS] panel session invitation for Southern Conference on Slavic Studies, March 5-7, 2015 To: [email protected] Hi everyone, If you might be attending the Southern Conference on Slavic Studies (SCSS) in Lexington, KY, March 5-7, 2015, I just thought I would mention a panel currently in planning stage which will be organized around the theme of *fin de siècle* Russia, also encompassing considerations of modernity and various ways of placing it in terms of shifting temporalities and spatialities at the turn of the 20th century. There is still quite a bit of flexibility and openness to a variety of topics and interests. Right now, we are two people on this panel, so we thought we'd like to invite more. Because it is still in an early planning stage, the details are not yet solid, so this isn't quite yet a proper call for papers, but we will likely send out a cfp in the next few weeks or so. If you are interested, please feel free to reply to me. Also, if you would like to know more about the SCSS (the southern affiliate for ASEEES) the website is: http://static.sewanee.edu/scss/conf_info/2015, and the deadline for panel and paper sessions is Jan. 15. Totally worth checking out, and it will likely be a friendly and productive convergence of ideas and scholars at all levels!
