Dear colleagues,

For those of you in or passing through New York City, please don't miss the
exhibitions Modern Photographs from the Thomas Walther Collection, 1909–1949
<http://www.moma.org/visit/calendar/exhibitions/1496> and
Production-Reproduction:
The Circulation of Photographic Modernism, 1900–1950
<http://www.moma.org/visit/calendar/exhibitions/1554> at the Museum of
Modern Art. The Walther Collection is composed of 341 photographs by almost
150 artists from the United States and Europe. Many Russian, Hungarian,
Czech, and Polish photographers are represented, including Aleksandr
Rodchenko, István Kerny, Jaromír Funke, and Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz.
The exhibition *Production-Reproduction* contextualizes these photographs
within their circulation in printed matter from the period.

These exhibitions are complemented by the print catalogue *Object:Photo.
Modern Photographs: The Thomas Walther Collection 1909-1949
<http://www.moma.org/interactives/objectphoto/the_book.html>* and a
ground-breaking digital humanities research platform at
www.moma.org/objectphoto with essays by scholars Péter Baki, Antonin Dufek,
Maria Gough, Christina Lodder, and Margarita Tupitsyn, to name just a few.

I hope you all will take advantage of these incredible resources!

Cheers,
Ksenia Nouril
