May 2015 Volume LIX, No. 5 / Society of Architectural Historians Newsletter Recap of the SAH 68th Annual International Conference Nearly 800 SAH members participated in the Society's 68th Annual International Conference and 75th anniversary celebrations that took place in Chicago, Illinois, from April 15-19, 2015. Attendees hailed from 36 countries and 42 states. A brief recap of the conference's events follows. Read More Call for Papers: SAH 69th Annual International Conference SAH is accepting abstracts for the SAH 69th Annual International Conference to be held in Pasadena/Los Angeles, CA, April 6-10, 2016. Please submit abstracts no later than June 9, 2015, for one of the 38 thematic sessions, Graduate Student Lightning Talks or for open sessions. The thematic sessions have been selected to cover topics across all time periods and architectural styles. Read More Upcoming Call for Conference Proposals Between June 9 and August 14, 2015, SAH will be accepting proposals for roundtable discussions, meetings, and informational presentations for the 2016 SAH Annual International Conference to be held in Pasadena/Los Angeles, April 6-10. Read More SAH Chapter and Partner News The Society of Historians of Eastern European, Eurasian and Russian Art and Architecture, Inc. (SHERA) has become incorporated as a nonprofit charitable organization in the State of New York, as of April 1, 2015. As an affiliated society of College Art Association, SHERA is sponsoring a 1.5-hour session at CAA 2016 Annual Conference in Washington, DC. The call for paper proposals for this session has been announced on SHERA listserv and website at shera-art.org/news. The Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians (SESAH) invites you to submit abstracts to its 2015 annual conference, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, on October 14-17. The deadline for the call for papers has been extended to June 1st. The call for papers and registration information may be found on the SESAH website. Members in the News Alexander Molodin: Fort Elisabeth Preservation Recognition, Historic Hawai'i Foundation Opportunities SAH/Mellon Author Awards: These awards are designed to provide financial support to scholars publishing their first monograph on the history of the built environment and who are responsible for paying for rights and permissions for images.
