Dear Colleagues,

Might I draw your attention to a threat facing the most important centre
for the restoration of mediaeval art in Russia («Межобластное
научно-реставрационное художественное управление»), a unique team of highly
professional restorers and conservators who have worked on some of the most
important sites in the country. Not yet recovered from the untimely death
of Vladimir Sarab'janov last month, they are now faced with an existential
threat in the form of a proposed privatisation.  Since the workshops can
never be commercially viable, but occupy a building in central Moscow, you
may draw your own conclusions.
