The Association of Print Scholars is pleased to announce its inaugural
lecture:

Peter Parshall

“Why Study Prints Now?”

September 25, 2015 at 4 PM

Martin Segal Theater at The Graduate Center, The City University of New York

In his lecture, Peter Parshall, former Curator of Old Master prints at the
National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., will address the history and
historiography of print studies. He is the former Jane Neuberger Goodsell
Professor of Art History and the Humanities at Reed College and, with David
Landau, co-author of The Renaissance Print: 1470-1550 (Yale University
Press, 1994). Parshall has published extensively and organized several
groundbreaking exhibitions covering a wide range of topics about
printmaking. He is currently conducting research on the curator William
Ivins for an upcoming 2016 exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
entitled The Power of Prints: The Legacy of William Ivins and Hyatt Mayor.
