The upcoming CAA and SHERA

Dear SHERAns:

The CAA conference in Washington DC is only a week and a half away.  In
preparation for it, I would like to remind you of sessions and events that
concern SHERA members directly.  All of them take place at Marriott Wardman
Park hotel except the SHERA business meeting and Part II of Alison Hilton's
session on Friday afternoon.

Wednesday, February 3:

12:30-2 PM:  "Looking Ahead:  Changes to the CAA Conference," chaired by
Suzanne Blier. Location: Wilson B, Mezzanine Level. Beginning in 2017, the
conference will undergo significant changes. If you are interested to hear
about them, please attend this session.

2:30 - 5 PM:  "Exploring Native Traditions in the Arts of Eastern Europe
and Russia," chaired by Alison Hilton.  Part I.  Washington 2, Exhibition

SHERA member Myroslava Mudrak and Tetiana Rudenko have been awarded the
2016 Alfred H. Barr Jr. Prize for Smaller Museums, Libraries, Collections,
and Exhibitions for their *Staging the Ukrainian Avant-Garde* exhibition at
the Ukrainian Museum.  The award will be conferred during the CAA Annual
Business Meeting.  Please come congratulate Myroslava and Tetiana on their
well-deserved award!

Thursday, February 4:

to attend the meeting are encouraged to share rides.

Please note that Hillwood Museum has a small cafe, which offers sandwiches
and beverages for purchase.  Attendees to the SHERA business meeting and
the second part of Alison Hilton's session are also welcome bring their own
lunch.    We expect to have some time between the end of the meeting and
the beginning of the session for a short meal break.
