Dear SHERAns:

I would like to bring your attention to the fact that beginning yesterday,
March 1, CAA opened its portal for submission of proposals for the 2017
conference in New York. This conference will feature several changes in
its structure, among which are 90-minute sessions, pop-up sessions, and
possibility to participate in the same role in consecutive years. The
detailed list of changes and the entrance to the proposal submission portal
can be found at the following link:
http://www.collegeart.org/news/2016/01/22/changes-to-the-annual-conference/.

Also, this year's submissions are welcomed in 4 categories:

+ Compete session proposals
+ Sessions soliciting contributors
+ Individual paper proposals
+ Affiliated society session proposals

The call for our affiliated society proposal "Emerging Scholars of East
European, Eurasian, and Russian Art" went out a month ago, on February 2.
The deadline for submission is April 10. If you are not sending your
proposal for the session sponsored by SHERA, you can still send proposals
for other categories. The modified structure of the conference will allow
for a significant increase in the number of sessions and, consequently, in
their chance of being accepted by the CAA Conference Committee.

If you have any questions about the process of proposal submission, please
write to us at the email below.

Thank you for your attention, and I hope that many of you will use the
opportunity to participate in CAA next year.

Sincerely,

Natasha Kurchanova
